Professor William Dunlop was born in 1692. He was Professor of Church History at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, between 1714-1720. Previously he had been a librarian at the University of Glasgow, 1710-1711. His correspondent was his brother, Professor Alexander Dunlop who was born in 1684.
